Hetero Biopharma raised awareness on Brain cancer across the emerging markets of Africa and Asia on Glioblastoma day

Glioblastoma Awareness Day (GBM Day) is dedicated to increasing public awareness of glioblastoma, the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer. It also honours those who have been impacted by the disease and supports efforts to develop better treatment options that will improve patient’s long-term prognosis.

Hetero Biopharma, the biologics arm of Hetero, had organized awareness drives of Glioblastoma across emerging markets on 21 July 2020 in association with regional cancer societies and institutions

To raise the awareness on various types of cancers, its causes, and treatment options available, an initiative SAPP has been rolled out for Spreading Awareness among Prescribers and Patients. In line with the theme, Round table meetings were organised highlighting the role of biosimilars (Bevacizumab-Bevaas) in treating recurrent glioblastoma. Also a customised poster which details about the prevalence, treatment for glioblastoma has been unveiled by renowned Oncologists across the Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Asian countries. A detailed talk by an oncologist on Glioblastoma and its prevalence was aired in one of the well accepted Radio channel in Zimbabwe

More than 12 events were organised during the week bringing together more than 85 health care professionals with various activities.
